Tank House is located in South Australia the driest State in the driest populated continent on earth. Roof water is collected and stored in steel tanks within the building envelope and in external tanks. The internal position of the tanks is designed for passive heat transfer for heating and cooling. We reference the Traditional Land Owner’s Rainbow Serpent in our two dimensional plan as a representation of the powerful force protecting water and bringing rain.
