John is involved in advising a number of government, professional and private organisations on the business benefits of standardised BIM and the implications for adoption and is a member of the Australasian BIM Advisory Board (ABAB). He participates in many industry activities, lectures widely throughout Australia and works closely with related national professional bodies and collaborates with JDA on implementing BIM in our projects. He is an observer on the building SMART Executive Committee responsible for strategic management of the IAI’s international operations.
He has been:
An Industry Fellow in the Faculty of Design & Building, UTS. An Associate Professor at the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of New South Wales. A Research Fellow at the Collaborative Research Centre for Low Carbon Living.
Chairman of the building SMART Australasia Chapter until 2017, continuing as a Board Member to 2019, and a previous Vice-Chairman of the International body of the IAI.
Instrumental in submitted the National BIM Initiative report, commissioned by the Built Environment Industry Innovation Council (BEIIC) and managed by building SMART, to the Commonwealth Government.
